About model work

Photographic and commercial modelling can be an exciting and rewarding experience for children.

Jobs can range from small local campaigns to major national advertising, and may include:

  • Fashion and lifestyle photography

  • Advertising campaigns

  • E-commerce and online retail

  • Catalogues and brochures

  • Packaging

  • In-store displays

  • Posters and billboards

  • Magazine features

  • Social media and digital campaigns

  • Commercial brand photography

Fees vary enormously depending on the client, the type of job, how the images will be used and how long they will be used for. Some assignments may pay an hourly or daily rate, while larger campaigns can attract significantly higher fees.

For us, though, the most important thing is that the child enjoys the experience.

What Makes a Good Child Model?

There is no such thing as one particular "model look".

Clients regularly request children of all appearances, backgrounds, sizes, personalities and abilities.

A child does not need previous modelling experience, but they should be comfortable meeting new people, able to listen and take simple direction, and happy being photographed.

Some shoots are quick and relaxed. Others may involve waiting around, outfit changes, repeating the same action several times or working alongside unfamiliar adults and children.

Being confident, patient and adaptable can therefore be just as important as appearance.

And above all, the child must genuinely want to be there.

Professional — But Still Fun

Modelling is work, and once a child is booked onto a professional assignment, both the child and parent are expected to approach it professionally.

That means arriving on time, following the client's instructions and being prepared for the requirements of the shoot.

At the same time, children should never feel pressured into doing modelling work they do not enjoy.

We want our young artists to have fun, build confidence and enjoy the opportunities that come their way.

How Children Are Selected

Clients provide us with a brief describing exactly what they are looking for.

That might include age, height, clothing size, location, appearance, skills or simply a particular personality or style.

Our team then searches the agency for children who match those requirements and submits the most suitable profiles to the client.

The final decision is always made by the client.

This is why keeping your child's profile, photographs, height and other information completely up to date is so important.
